This Privacy Policy applies to our website, our online shop, our online booking and consultation services, our AAHHCC certification courses, and any related services, sales, marketing, or events (collectively, the “Services”). Please read it carefully. If there is anything here you don’t agree with, please discontinue use of the Services.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you create an account, book a consultation, place an order in our shop, enroll in a certification course, subscribe to our newsletter, or otherwise contact us. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
Name and contact data: first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number.
Account credentials: username, password, and security questions used for account access.
Payment data: processed by our third-party payment processor (see Section 5). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Consultation information: details you choose to share with Dr. Vasudha Gupta or her team in connection with an Ayurvedic consultation, including wellness goals, symptoms, lifestyle habits, and health history you volunteer. See Section 3 below.
Booking information: appointment date/time, consultation type (in-person or Zoom), and any notes you provide when scheduling.
Course and certification data: enrollment records, progress, quiz/assessment results, and certificates issued through our learning platform.
Order and shipping data: items purchased, shipping address, and order history for herbal formulations and copper wellness products.
Social media login data: if you choose to register using a social media account (see Section 10).
Information automatically collected
When you visit our Services, we automatically collect certain information such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, and general location, along with information about how you use the Services. This is used primarily to keep the Services secure and functioning properly, and for internal analytics.
Information from other sources
We may occasionally receive information about you from public databases, marketing partners, social media platforms, or other third parties, such as profile information you’ve made public or contact details supplied by a referral partner.
2. How Do We Use Your Information?
We use the information we collect for the following purposes, relying on legitimate business interests, performance of a contract with you, your consent, and/or compliance with legal obligations, as applicable:
To create and manage your account, and to facilitate login (including via third-party social accounts).
To schedule and manage consultation appointments, whether in-person or via Zoom.
To process, fulfill, and ship orders placed through our shop, and to handle returns and exchanges.
To enroll you in, deliver, and track progress through AAHHCC certification courses, and to issue certificates of completion.
To send administrative communications, such as appointment confirmations, order updates, and course notifications.
To send marketing and promotional communications, where you have opted in — you can opt out at any time (see Section 15).
To respond to inquiries, requests, and feedback.
To maintain the security, integrity, and proper functioning of our Services, including fraud prevention.
To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and protect our legal rights.
For internal analytics, to understand usage trends, and to improve our Services.
3. Health & Wellness Information
Because American Ayurveda provides Ayurvedic consultations, you may choose to share information about your health, wellness goals, symptoms, or lifestyle with Dr. Vasudha Gupta or her team, whether in person, via Zoom, through a booking form, or in follow-up communications.
Not a covered healthcare provider under HIPAA. American Ayurveda is an Ayurvedic wellness practice, not a licensed medical provider, hospital, or health plan, and this information is generally not subject to the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). We nonetheless treat any wellness or health-related information you share with the same level of care and confidentiality described throughout this policy, and we limit its use to providing your consultation and related services.
We do not sell health or wellness information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
We only share this information with the limited staff or practitioners directly involved in your consultation, and with service providers strictly necessary to operate our booking and communication systems (see Section 7).
You are never required to share more than you’re comfortable with. Any information you provide is voluntary, and you may ask us to remove or correct it at any time by contacting americanayurveda@gmail.com.
4. Booking, Zoom Consultations & Scheduling
Appointments are scheduled through our online booking system. When you book a consultation, we collect your name, contact details, appointment preferences, and any notes you provide.
If you book a Zoom consultation, your session is conducted through Zoom’s platform, which has its own privacy practices governing the audio/video connection. We recommend reviewing Zoom’s Privacy Policy.
We do not record consultation sessions unless we tell you in advance and obtain your consent.
Appointment reminders and confirmations may be sent by email, text, or phone based on the contact preferences you provide.
5. Shop, Orders & Payment Information
Our shop sells handmade herbal formulations and copper wellness products. When you place an order, we collect the information necessary to process and fulfill it, including your shipping address and order contents.
Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor(s). We do not store your full payment card number on our servers — payment data is handled directly by the processor in accordance with their own security standards and privacy policy.
Order and shipping information is shared with shipping carriers solely to deliver your order.
We retain order history to help with returns, exchanges, and customer support.
6. AAHHCC Certification Courses
If you enroll in our holistic health coach certification program, we collect the information needed to register you, deliver course content, track your progress, administer assessments, and issue a certificate upon completion.
Course activity (lessons completed, quiz scores, time spent) is recorded to support your learning experience and to verify eligibility for certification.
We do not sell your course or assessment data.
If you communicate with instructors or in any course discussion areas, please be mindful that other enrolled students may be able to see information you choose to post there.
7. Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone?
We only share your information in the following situations:
Service providers who help us operate the Services, including our website hosting provider, payment processor, shipping carriers, our booking and scheduling system, our video-consultation provider (Zoom), our online course platform, and email/communications tools. These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are contractually restricted from using it for other purposes.
Compliance with law, where required to respond to a subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process.
Protection of rights and safety, where we believe it’s necessary to investigate or prevent fraud, policy violations, or threats to safety.
Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets.
With your consent, for any other purpose you approve, such as publishing a testimonial you’ve agreed to share.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your health or wellness information for advertising purposes.
8. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as pixels and web beacons) to operate the Services, remember your preferences, keep your shopping cart and course progress intact, and understand how visitors use our site. Some cookies may be set by third-party analytics or advertising partners.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect how parts of the site function, such as staying logged in or completing checkout. Where required by law, we will present a cookie consent banner allowing you to accept or decline non-essential cookies.
9. Do We Use Google Maps?
Yes. We use Google Maps to help visitors find our location. Use of Google Maps is governed by Google’s Maps Platform Terms of Service and Google’s Privacy Policy. By using our Maps integration, you agree to allow us to obtain or cache your approximate location; you may revoke this at any time through your browser or device settings.
10. How Do We Handle Your Social Logins?
If you register or log in using a third-party social media account, we receive certain profile information from that provider, such as your name, email address, and profile picture. We use this information only as described in this policy. We are not responsible for how your social media provider handles your data — please review their privacy policy directly.
11. Third-Party Websites
Our Services may link to third-party websites or services that are not affiliated with us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their policies before providing any information.
12. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law (for example, tax or accounting requirements). As a general rule, we do not keep personal information for more than two years after your last interaction with us, except where needed for legal, contractual, or record-keeping obligations (such as course completion certificates, which we retain to verify certification status).
When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it, or, where immediate deletion isn’t possible (such as information stored in backups), we isolate it from further use until deletion is possible.
13. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including secure hosting, restricted access, and encrypted payment processing through our third-party processor. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please only interact with the Services within a secure environment.
14. Do We Collect Information From Minors?
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 years old, or that you are a parent or guardian consenting on behalf of a minor dependent for wellness services provided to that minor. If we learn that we’ve collected personal information from someone under 18 without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information. 15. What Are Your Privacy Rights?
You can review, correct, or request deletion of your personal information at any time by:
Logging into your account and updating your details, or
When you request account deletion, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active systems, though some information may be retained where necessary to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, or comply with legal obligations.
Marketing opt-out: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly. You will continue to receive transactional messages (such as appointment confirmations and order updates) necessary to administer your account.
16. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the following rights regarding your personal information:
Right to know what personal information we’ve collected, used, disclosed, and (if applicable) sold about you.
Right to delete personal information we’ve collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information (such as health-related information you share with us for a consultation) to only what is necessary to provide the requested service.

17. European Economic Area, UK & International Visitors
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you may have additional rights, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal information, and the right to object to certain processing. 18. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
Some browsers support “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals or the Global Privacy Control (GPC). Where legally required, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as GPC, as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser or device.
19. Do We Make Updates to This Policy?
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or operational reasons.
